A Clean and Simple Card

It’s amazing how sometimes, even though your mind doesn’t know it, your hands know exactly what you want.  That’s how I made this card.  I was just fiddling with my distress inks and learning how to work with them. And this card was the end result 🙂

I’m submitting this card to the Lulupu 2nd Birthday Challenge:

Pink and Black embossed card

Although I have made a few other scrapbook layouts and cards since January this is my first blog post this year 2014.

Black and Pink Embossed Card 2

Have clear embossed the butterflies and “I {heart} you” using the Inkadinkado Gem Stone Insects stamp set and the Lawn Fawn Say Cheese set respectively on the black panel. The tags are Chipboard embellishments tied up with hemp cord. The black panel is mounted on dark pink craft paper which was then stuck onto the base pink cardstock.

Have clicked the photo using my phone. In fact, I am posting this from my phone.. So I have no clue how the paragraphs alignment is gonna turn out when viewing on desktop.. Keeping fingers crossed…

Wild About You!

After quite a long break, here’s a quick post.

Wild About You!

I’m not sure if the hand-drawn border did any good to the card.. Do you think I should have left the borders blank? Hmmm…

The Rhino , the sentiment and the grass are a part of the Lawn Fawn Stamp Set – Critters of the Savannah.! The hearts and the border are hand-drawn with red Sharpie. Coloured the Rhino using Spectrum Noir Marker..

Polaroid Card

I’ve made this card using the Lawn Fawn – Say Cheese Stamp  Set and Sunny Skies Stamp Set.

I didn’t have any Airplane Stamp so I had to hand draw that one. Kind of screwed up the coloring on the plane though. And not sure if you noticed at first look, but I have forgotten to add the kite’s tail as well 🙂 Didn’t wanna spoil the card any more so I decided to let it be as it is.

Rainbows n Ribbons

Hello Y’all!

I am back with another CAS card. I haven’t had a chance to use ribbons in any of my cards in quite a while. So, I had decided that whichever card I would make next would definitely have ribbons.

Rainbow Bday Card

The card measures 6 x 5 inches. The white panel measure 5.5 x 4.5 inches.

I have used 0.5 inch wide ribbons along with Penny Black- Party Time stamp sets(cupcake and happy birthday sentiment) for making this card.

The following couple of photos will give an idea of how I achieved this look with the ribbons.

Ribbon Backside Ribbon FrontSide

I coloured the cupcake using my Lyra colour pencils. Although initially stamped the cupcake using my ‘London Fog’ shade of Memento Ink, I re-did the cupcake outlines with my black Sharpie for sharper look.

Made this card last night. (Click on the image to see the enlarged image)

First stamped the cute little hedgehog with black memento ink onto plain white paper. And colored the image using Lyra Color pencils.

Then I cut out the image as a square piece and used a round corner punch to get the rounded edges. Repeated this on blue card stock for a slightly bigger square.

After pasting the diagonal striped washi tape on my base white card, i stuck the pink and blue punched circles on the card. Used glossy accents for the 3-d look.

I stuck the hedgehog image and blue square on top of the card base using 2-sided foam tape and Ta da! All done! 🙂

Weekends are awesome

Love the weekends. Saw the movie – ‘Beautiful Creatures’ today. It was a good movie but it could have been better. The concept was good so I am wondering if I should read the novel it was based on. Hmm…

After the movie, went to a Arts n Crafts Exhibition, sort of like Music-food-crafts festival, called the Madras Market. It is pretty amazing how many talented people are out there..

And then, I finally got a chance to use my new Floral Punch.. And here’s what I came up with..

What do you guys think?
