Pink and Black embossed card

Although I have made a few other scrapbook layouts and cards since January this is my first blog post this year 2014.

Black and Pink Embossed Card 2

Have clear embossed the butterflies and “I {heart} you” using the Inkadinkado Gem Stone Insects stamp set and the Lawn Fawn Say Cheese set respectively on the black panel. The tags are Chipboard embellishments tied up with hemp cord. The black panel is mounted on dark pink craft paper which was then stuck onto the base pink cardstock.

Have clicked the photo using my phone. In fact, I am posting this from my phone.. So I have no clue how the paragraphs alignment is gonna turn out when viewing on desktop.. Keeping fingers crossed…

Mini 3×3 Notecard

Earlier this month, I came across the monthly challenge post at Catchy Challenges Blog.. 🙂 The challenge is to make a mini note-card of dimensions 3×3 and make a matching envelope for it.

Although it sounds pretty simple, it is tough to make cuz the area you are dealing with is very small. It’s about the size of the palm of your hand.

While making mini cards, it is kinda hard to know when to stop. I mean that’s how it is for me. Well, it’s like that for me with every card 😛 It’s like – how much is too much? I didn’t wanna go overboard so I have tried to keep it is as simple as possible.

Ribbon Weaving for Handmade Card

So here’s the work of an amateur card maker.

Handmade Card - Rainbow Colors

I know the card doesn’t have a whole lot except the whole ribbon-woven portion. But then, there are so many colors in there, that adding anything else in the card, would have made it look really tacky.

I was really confused for a while, wondering where to add the word – ‘Best Wishes’.

So the lesson learnt here is that, next time, I will do the ribbon weaving for a smaller area 😛

I decided to use satin ribbons for this handmade card because of my ever growing stash. I normally use my ribbons for jewellery making, but I have used it here for a change.

Below, you can see the whole process of how I did the ribbon weaving portion for the card.
